ALBAS
These flower in early summer and are perfumed and resistant to disease – they are upright and vigorous plants.
Alba Maxima, Alba Semi-plena, Celestial, Felicite Parmentier, Konigin von Danemarck, Mme. Legras de St. Germain, Maiden’s Blush, Pompon Blanc Parfait, R. alba.
BOURBONS
There are both shrub and climbing forms and they are repeat-flowering, vary in colour and growth habit.
Boule de Neige, Kathleen Harrop, Mme. Isaac Pereire, Souvenir de la Malmaison, Bourbon Queen, La Reine Victoria, Mme. Pierre Oger, Variegata di Bologna, Honorine de Brabant, Louise Odier, Rose Edouard, Zephirine Drouhin.
DAMASKS
These roses are healthy and have a distinct Damask perfume and some are remontant.
Belle Amour, Botzaris, Celsiana, La Ville de Bruxelles, Marie Louise, Ispahan, Kazanlik, Leda, Madamme Hardy, Mme. Plantier, Omar Khayyam, Quatre Saisons, York and Lancaster, Quatre Saisons Blanc Mousseux.
CENTIFOLIAS
These roses are lax, open shrubs with many thorns and coarse leaves. Flowers are generally large, globular and very fragrant.

GALLICAS
These are compact plants with ample foliage and can be single or very double.

These have buds and/or stems covered with moss, and vary in colour and height.
