“Roses” by Jack Harkness (UK) – J M Dent & Sons Ltd – possibly out of print now but you may be able to obtain a copy through Amazon.com or Alibris.com

“Classic Roses” by Peter Beales (UK) - Harvill Press - which has a lot of useful information and excellent photographs. 

“The Graham Stuart Thomas Rose Book” by Graham Stuart Thomas (UK) – J M Dent & Sons Ltd – which comprises his trilogy and has a more scientific look at roses.
