Reliable Roses is a small but unique rose farm situated near the beautiful Dandenong Ranges approximately 60 kilometres east of Melbourne (see Site Map). Nestled amongst the numerous berry farms in the Silvan area, visitors will find a comprehensive collection of Species Roses, Old Fashioned Roses (also known as OGRs, Historic or Classic Roses), as well as many admirable Modern Roses from the past which are not easily obtainable nowadays.

With the knowledge and experience of growing, propagating, exhibiting and judging roses, genuine advice is available to interested rose enthusiasts. Whether it is a small cottage garden setting or a more extensive landscape garden, the choice of hundreds of cultivars will surely satisfy all tastes.

Species Roses are suitable for various situations (e.g. woodland settings) and provide colourful stems, interesting foliage, attractive flowers, and fascinating hips; Old Fashioned Roses bring history, charm and romance to the gardens of period homes; and Modern Roses bring outstanding colours, form and elegance to contemporary homes; many roses having the added benefit of perfume, health and hardiness.

Roses are extremely versatile. There are procumbent cultivars to cover embankments; bush or shrub forms for the smaller garden; standard roses for formal gardens; small climbers to grow on pillars or tripods; medium to large climbers and ramblers suitable for covering walls and fences; and rampant ones suitable for climbing into trees.
